Should I apply in my wife's/parent's demat account too for better allotment chances?
Absolutely yes, and this is one of the smartest things you can do to improve your chances of getting an allotment. It's legal, 100% SEBI-compliant and smart investors are already using this strategy. SEBI allows one application per PAN number. So each family member with their own PAN + demat account is a completely independent application - and an independent shot at allotment.
Each application is an independent draw in SEBI's computerised lottery. More tickets = more chances. Simple as that.
1. Each person needs their own PAN
Different PANs = different applications. No sharing.
2. Each needs a demat account + bank linked for ASBA
Opening an account on ArihantPlus is quick and completely digital (<7min).
3. Funds are only blocked, not debited
Each account needs enough balance for 1 lot. Unblocked in 6 days if no allotment.
One thing to avoid
Do NOT apply twice from the same PAN, even from different brokers or banks. SEBI's system detects duplicate PANs and rejects all applications linked to that PAN. You'd lose allotment from that account entirely.
