According to CDSL guidelines, the nomination facility is available only for individual demat account holders. This means only a single person or jointly held demat accounts by individuals can register a nominee to inherit the securities in case of the account holder's death.  

Non-individual entities such as HUFs, companies, trusts, or partnership firms are not permitted to add a nominee to their demat accounts, as they are treated as separate legal entities.
