Is the nomination facility available for corporate accounts?

No, the nomination facility is not available for corporate accounts. As per CDSL guidelines, the nomination facility is provided only for individual demat accounts. Non-individual account holders, such as companies, partnerships, and trusts, are not eligible to add a nominee.

This restriction is in place because corporate entities do not have natural heirs like individuals. Instead, the transmission of assets in such accounts follows the legal framework governing corporate ownership, succession planning, or authorized signatories. Therefore, corporate account holders must ensure proper internal documentation and legal arrangements for asset management and succession within their organization.
