How to activate the F&O segment in ArihantPlus
You can activate Futures and Options (F&O) segment if your equity account is active with ArihantPlus. You need to make sure that your Aadhar card is linked with your mobile number to activate the derivatives segment online including F&O, currency and commodity.
Who can activate F&O online?
Only resident individual accounts can activate F&O segment online. If you are a non-resident individual (NRI), HUF, corporate, partnership, trust, etc., you need to follow the offline account activation process.
To activate F&O online, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open your account settings
- Open the ArihantPlus App
- Tap your profile icon on the top-right corner (your initials)
- Tap on your name to go to “My Profile”
- Scroll down to find the “Active Segments” section
- Tap on the F&O Segment to begin activation
Step 2: Enable the F&O segment
You will land on a new page.
- Scroll down and tap the “Segment” box
- On new page, tap on Edit button on top
- Now, tap on the “Equity FO” toggle to activate F&O segment.
- It will turn green
- Tap “Upload Income Proof”
Step 3: Upload your income proof
- Select and upload your document (e.g., 6-month bank statement)
- Tap “Save”
- You will see the prompt:
“Segment Activation Request Received.”
- Now, proceed to complete the e-sign verification
Notes: To activate the F&O segment, upload ANY ONE of these income-proof documents:
- A 6-month bank statement with an average balance above ₹10,000
- Your ITR acknowledgement with gross annual income above ₹1,20,000
- Latest salary slips with gross monthly income above ₹15,000
- Form 16 showing annual income above ₹1,20,000
- Latest Demat holding statement with holdings worth more than ₹10,000
Step 4: Complete the E-Sign process
• Tap “Proceed” to start the e-sign process
• Tick the checkbox → Tap “Sign Document”
• Tick “Authorize” → Enter your Aadhaar number
• Tap “Send OTP”
• Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
You will see:
“Document Successfully Signed.”
Step 5: Final review
- Your documents will now be reviewed by the Arihant team
- Once verified, your F&O segment will be activated shortly
Things to keep in mind:
- Activation may take up to 72 working hours.
- Minors are not allowed to trade in F&O. So, if the account holder is a minor, F&O cannot be enabled.
- If your registered address is in Sikkim, a domicile certificate is required to activate commodities.
- Income proof must be a PDF, under 2MB, and should clearly show the logo and official seal of the issuing authority.
