What is an IPO (Initial Public Offering)?
An IPO (Initial Public Offering) is when a company offers its shares to the public for the very first time. In simple words, it’s the company’s way of inviting investors, like you, to become a part of its growth story. Before an IPO, the company is privately owned — usually by its founders and early investors. When it decides to “go public,” it lists its shares on a stock exchange like NSE or BSE, allowing you to become part owner of the company as shareholder. For investors, an IPO can be an exciting opportunity to invest early in a growing company and potentially benefit as the company expands and performs well in the future.
